Scholarships Available HUD Housing Needs Study and Outreach Sessions
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Office of Policy Development and Research (PD&R) will begin a comprehensive study on the extent of housing needs in Indian Country, including Alaska, and the housing needs of native Hawaiians who are eligible to reside on the Hawaiian Home Lands.
Prior to the study, the HUD Office of Native American Programs (ONAP) will conduct a series of outreach sessions that will serve as a forum for input from tribal leaders, tribal housing authorities, native Hawaiians, and other stakeholders on a variety of housing related issues.
These sessions will generate broad discussions on the community and economic needs in creating housing development; eliminating barriers to housing development; developing more units; success stories; and the impact housing has on tribal community and economic development.
These meetings will also inform all stakeholders about the upcoming PD&R Housing Needs Study, what to expect, and the importance of responding to the survey. The meeting will also provide real life examples to enhance the data that will be collected in the PD&R study.
