    An overview of the various funding opportunities (including compliance requirements) available for affordable housing for Tribal projects. Heavy emphasis will be on the Low Income Housing Tax Credits, including how to navigate the application materials and structure a project. The information learned during the first 1.5 days will culminate into a group project with group presentations.

    Briefly describe the desired SHORT TERM results/benefits that you anticipate the students will gain from this classroom training sessions:
    Students will be introduced to various forms of funding opportunities. They will learn that each comes with its own set of rules. They have different timelines and application requirements. They will learn if the funding opportunities are viable in their communities given their needs and demographics.

    Briefly describe the desired LONG TERM results/benefits that you anticipate the students will gain from this classroom training session:

    Ideally, students will learn which financing opportunities will benefit their members and will ultimately apply for those funds that are appropriate to their situation. This will result in more money from other sources that will enable more affordable housing projects to be constructed and managed.
