    Environmental Assessment for New Construction
    March 23-24, 2017

    These 2 interactive workshops address the environmental review requirements of 24 CFR Part 58 as they apply to HUD-funded housing new construction and rehabilitation activities. Participants will learn about the specific requirements that apply to projects, including NEPA and the other related laws and authorities, and how to evaluate and address them in the environmental review record, from project planning through HUD approval and release of funding. During each workshop participants will work with a specific project case study to develop a completed Environmental Assessment or a completed Review, enabling them to learn and then use the new knowledge they have gained. The sessions will wrap up with a discussion of key stumbling points and environmental review best practices.
