Membership and Advocacy Program Assistant- Bishop Paiute Tribe
Valerie Butterbredt is an enrolled member of the Bishop Paiute Tribe in Bishop, California. She holds a BA in Political Science, graduating from the University of California, Merced in May 2015.
Valerie interned with Social Security Administration in Washington DC through the Washington Internship for Native American Students (WINS) program, while attending American University, as a graduate student in Fall 2015. Through this experience she performed varied administration functions, such as personnel management, resource planning, and emergency preparedness. Prior to the Social Security Administration internship she has held internships on the Bishop Paiute Reservation at the Environmental Management Office, Community Development Department, Bishop Indian Education Center, and worked as a tutor for California Teaching Fellows Foundation in Merced, California. Valerie has worked for the National American Indian Housing Council since December 2015, as the Membership and Advocacy Program Assistant. She facilitates collection and analysis of membership data including periodic membership needs assessment using newly implemented MemberClicks software. Valerie is responsible for high level membership customer service, data management, membership communication through NAIHC social media, web updates and constant contact as well as membership fee collection and processing.
