Description: The Board of Commissioners Virtual Training provides Tribal Housing Board members with the essential knowledge and skills to effectively oversee Tribally Designated Housing Entities (TDHEs) under NAHASDA. Thise course covers NAHASDA regulations, board governance, fiscal management, program compliance, and major funding programs such as IHBG, ICDBG, and Section 184. Participants learn how to safeguard fiscal integrity, develop Indian Housing Plans, and support homeownership and economic development. Real-world case studies and guidance on Tribal consultation strengthen decision-making and help board members advance affordable housing goals in their communities.

This training is offered free of charge to Tribal Housing professionals nationwide through a cooperative agreement between the National American Indian Housing Council (NAIHC) and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Office of Native American Programs.
