Description: This in-person training provides Tribal council members, housing commissioners, and TDHE staff with a practical working knowledge of NAHASDA along with the federal regulations that govern the IHBG program. Participants learn how these legal requirements apply to Tribal ordinances, housing policies, TDHE procedures, compliance reporting, and ONAP monitoring. Exercises focus on translating the law into everyday responsibilities such as board actions, contracting, tenant selection, and maintenance. Each participant receives a full copy of the statute and regulations for ongoing reference.

This training is offered free of charge to Tribal Housing professionals nationwide through a cooperative agreement between the National American Indian Housing Council (NAIHC) and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Office of Native American Programs.
