Introduction, overview and orientation to the NAHASDA statute and accompanying federal regulations. With relationship to tribal laws/polices and TDHE daily operations. Participants will be given full copies of the statue and regulations. Format will include some exercises/group activities to help participants become comfortable accessing and using the primary legal authorities for NAHASDA.

 

Learning Objective:

Participants should be familiar and comfortable understanding and referencing the primary statutory and regulatory legal provisions governing NAHASDA programs and understand how they 1) affect the daily operation of the TDHE, 2) interact with tribal laws and TDHE policies.

Board members, executive directors, TDHE program managers, other TDHE staff.
