NAIHC Tribal Housing Assistance Resource Hub

NAIHC Resources

A tool for American Indian, Alaska Native,
and Native Hawaiian homeowners, families, and individuals.

The National American Indian Housing Council (NAIHC) Tribal Housing Assistance website is a resource hub for American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian homeowners, individuals, and families looking for mortgage, utilities, and rental assistance offered by state and tribal programs.

The COVID-19 pandemic created many housing challenges and in response Congress established the Homeowner Assistance Fund (HAF) and the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP) to help states and tribes alleviate the impacts of COVID-19. Tribes that are recipients of HAF and ERAP funding are continuing or expanding their housing assistance services to tribal members living on and off tribal land.

Scroll over the map below and click on a state to find a listing of state and tribal HAF and ERAP services as well as all housing services offered by tribal housing programs, such as home loan assistance, homebuyer education, elder and veteran housing, and other services. Homeowners may be eligible for both state and tribal assistance.

The NAIHC Housing Assistance Resource Hub was developed in partnership with Wells Fargo and help from stakeholders and program directors. NAIHC does not offer housing assistance direct services, however NAIHC does help connect American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian individuals and families with resources. If you are a tribal member in need of rent, mortgage, or utilities assistance, please email [email protected].

NAIHC offers training and technical assistance for tribal housing programs on writing Homeowners Assistance Program plans. To request assistance, please complete the NAIHC technical assistance request form.
