Travois joins AMERIND Risk, NAIHC Annual Convention as Onyx Sponsor
Tribal leaders, administrators and business professionals convened in Nashville
(July 11, 2017) – In addition to its continued support of NAIHC as a Turquoise Premier Partner, Travois sponsored the AMERIND Risk | NAIHC Annual Convention & Trade Show as an Onyx Partner. The annual convention brings together nearly 700 attendees for networking and training.
Since 1995, Travois has helped 87 tribal partners in American Indian, Alaska Native and Native Hawaiian communities use private investor equity to build more than 200 housing and economic development projects in 21 states. These developments, with a value of more than $1.2 billion, have provided much-needed housing and services and have created thousands of jobs and more vibrant communities.
“NAIHC is proud of its long-time partnership with Travois. A leader on tax-credit housing development projects, Travois provides our members a wealth of experience and a number of examples of best practices and success stories,” said Anthony Walters, NAIHC Executive Director.
Over 22 years, Travois has partnered with dozens of NAIHC members and AMERIND Risk clients to secure financing for housing developments, infrastructure, economic development, education and healthcare projects through the use of the Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) and New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) programs, while also providing related services like architectural design and compliance and asset management.
“AMERIND Risk and NAIHC are leaders in the housing industry, and we are proud supporters of their efforts and this joint convention,” said Elizabeth Glynn, Travois CEO. “We all share the common goal of decent, safe and affordable housing in Native communities, and it’s a wonderful opportunity to come together to see how we can support one another.”
Travois’ partnership with NAIHC also includes training opportunities for housing professionals. Together, Travois and NAIHC developed the NAHASDA & Tax Credit Compliance Professional (NTCCP) certification course. The course and certification designates professionals who have experience and expertise in continuing compliance with the LIHTC program and the Native American Housing Assistance and Self Determination Act (NAHASDA). The next training will be held July 18-20 in Kansas City, Mo. Learn more on the NAIHC website at https://naihc.net or on the Travois website at http://travois.com.
