Samuel brings over ten years of experience working in both the non-profit and government sectors at the intersection of housing policy, economic development, and advocacy.

Samuel Marquez is joining the National American Indian Housing Council (NAIHC) to serve as Chief of Staff. He previously served as a Presidential Appointee at the U.S Departments of Agriculture and Commerce as Director of Intergovernmental Affairs in the Office of the Secretary of Agriculture, Deputy Chief of Staff of USDA’s Rural Housing Service (RHS), and Deputy Chief of Staff at the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA).

Prior to his federal service he held roles at several civic organizations in Los Angeles, CA including the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials (NALEO), the Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC), and the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. Samuel is originally from Southern California and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of California, Riverside.
