Description: This two-day course is designed to equip Tribal Council members with a comprehensive understanding of the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act (NAHASDA) and the federal requirements governing the Indian Housing Block Grant (IHBG) program. The training explores NAHASDA’s history, purpose, and principles of Tribal self-determination, the Council’s fiduciary responsibilities in managing housing funds, and the process for reviewing and approving Indian Housing Plans (IHPs) and Annual Performance Reports (APRs) in compliance with 24 CFR Part 1000 and 2 CFR Part 200.
