NAIHC offers a variety of training options specific to the needs of the Indian housing industry. Since 1987, our Leadership Institute has offered training that meets the needs of tribal housing professionals. In partnership with HUD, NAIHC also offers specialized training on a regional basis. Additionally, requests for on-site training can be accommodated through our Technical Assistance Program. All of the training offered by NAIHC is taught by experienced instructors who have worked in the Indian housing industry for many years.
NAIHC provides both on- and off-site technical assistance free of charge at the request of any tribe or tribal housing entity who receives Indian Housing Block Grant (IHBG) funding under the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-determination Act (NAHASDA). This service is made available through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, Office of Native American Programs.
NAIHC launched its first in a series of eLearning courses – Indian Housing Management. This is the introductory course in NAIHC’s Leadership Institute, in which you as an Indian housing professional can earn specialist certificates in a variety of topic areas. By completing the required number of courses in any given track, you can earn the prestigious Professional Indian Housing Manager (PIHM) designation.
