Indian Land Dancing Bricolage Mural: Clean-up project
On May 20, 2013, attendees of the National American Indian Housing Council’s 39th Annual Convention will help clean the Indian Land Dancing Bricolage mural using environmentally safe cleaning supplies. All are encouraged to join the effort.
The Chicago Public Art Group and 48th Ward Alderman Mary Ann Smith worked closely with the Chicago American Indian Community to create a public art piece that would connect the present with Chicago’s rich American Indian history. Many Native American families contributed time and effort into the design process, and students and families of the Chicago Public Schools’ Title VII Program participated in the installation of the art piece. This piece is at the Foster Avenue underpass at Lake Shore Drive.
Additionally, during the May 21 Welcome Reception, which will be held at the Chicago Cultural Center, NAIHC will accept donations for the Chicago American Indian Center (details to follow), which will also be the recipient of the 50/50 raffle proceeds.
For additional information, please contact BC EchoHawk at 202.454.0948 or bechohawk@naihc.net.

NAIHC’s most longstanding annual event, the Annual Convention and Trade Show is an opportunity to learn about tribal housing, attend training courses, and network with successful housing professionals as well as vendors from across the country.
